About the position

Kemper is seeking a Major Loss National Claims Examiner to supervise and direct the handling of complex and severe claims. This role involves overseeing the investigation, evaluation, and resolution of claims, ensuring compliance with best practices and departmental guidelines. The position can be based in Henderson, NV, or remotely in California or Arizona, and is crucial for maintaining the integrity and accuracy of claims management.

Responsibilities
Ā• Review and analyze Home Office Referral files to identify critical issues and form action plans for claims handling.

Ā• Direct Company personnel to perform specific tasks needed to complete the action plan effectively.
,
Ā• Conduct ongoing analysis and reassessment of action plans to ensure desired results are achieved.
,
Ā• Analyze and direct handling of coverage positions and confirm or deny coverage as needed.
,
Ā• Coordinate and direct investigations into the facts of the loss and the nature/extent of damages or injuries.
,
Ā• Ensure all documentation of damages is obtained as required based on the nature of the claim.
,
Ā• Evaluate information on contractual coverage, liability, and damages to determine exposure to the insured.
,
Ā• Document investigation, evaluation, strategies, and resolutions of claims through various means of communication.
,
Ā• Review and set reserves within authority or recommend changes to higher management for approval.
,
Ā• Conclude claims by communicating coverage and liability positions and directing settlement negotiations.

Requirements
Ā• 4+ years of claim handling experience with proficiency in analyzing and handling claims, including bodily injury claim evaluation.
,
Ā• Current adjuster licenses in assigned states.
,
Ā• Prior leadership experience preferred.
,
Ā• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
,
Ā• Ability to provide technical directions and work effectively with staff at all levels.
,
Ā• Basic ability to set up and maintain Excel for communication, reporting, and documentation.

Nice-to-haves
Ā• Experience in negotiating settlements and understanding of arbitration and mediation processes.
