Low Voltage Telecom Instructor
Per Scholas is a leading organization focused on unlocking potential through tech training. They are seeking a Low Voltage and Telecom instructor to deliver training, assess student progress, and maintain instructional materials for entry-level to mid-level careers in the field.ResponsibilitiesSupport instructor-led training that prepares students for entry-level to mid-level careers in low voltage and telecomResponsibilities include daily instruction, assessment administration, attendance, one-on-one tutoring, daily evaluation and monitoring of individual student progress, addressing student violations with students in a consistent manner, and moreProvide students with access to relevant resources for outside learning on technologies and study aids relevant to the curriculumWork closely with the team to identify student needs, provide the necessary support, establish individualized plans for student achievement, and participate in regular student-status meetingsMaintain and update Salesforce and/or our LMS with student grades, certification scores, and progress notesSupport and maintain the training curricula, syllabi, lesson plans, and other classroom materialsSkills1-3 years of teaching or training experienceStrong technical background; able to grasp and convey highly technical subject matterAbility to respond clearly to live digital conversations via a digital engagement platform such as Zoom or an in-person training environmentStrong communication skillsCommitment to ongoing professional development, applicable certifications, and coursework to stay current with rapidly evolving technology trends and advancementsNetwork Engineering Experience with Network Devices, firewalls, routers, switches, and wireless access pointsExperience with troubleshooting hardware/software i.e., βComputer Break/Fix'Experience with supporting Rack Servers Dell PowerEdge / HP ProliantOperating Systems SupportExperience as a corporate trainer or prior instructional experienceKnowledge of industry-standard cable specificationsFamiliarity with low-voltage topology (MDF, IDF, CDF)Low Voltage support and experience in a data center environmentRequired Certifications: OSHA 10-Hour Online Training Courses, NFPA 70E - Electrical Safety Training, ESA Certified Alarm Technician LevelPreferred: CompTIA A+ CertificationThe ability to write content and curriculum related to instructional outcomes is a plusAbility to train and secure Cisco Network Essentials certificationCompany OverviewPer Scholas is proud to celebrate 30 years of fostering economic mobility by giving individuals from diverse backgrounds access to high-growth tech careers.
