Job Summary

The Librarian (Part-Time Faculty Pool) at Clovis Community College will be responsible for providing on-demand reference and research services, conducting bibliographic instruction, and collaborating with faculty to increase awareness of library resources. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to equity-minded practices and be able to work effectively with students from diverse backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities


Providing on-demand reference and extended research services to students, including evenings and weekends
Conducting bibliographic instruction for students in a classroom environment, utilizing Canvas and other online platforms
Collaborating with faculty to increase awareness of library resources and promote student success
Developing Library Guides and Open Educational Resources (OER) materials to support student learning
Promoting library resources to faculty, students, and campus groups through various channels
Collaborating with other librarians to establish library policies and procedures that support student success
Contributing to the development, purchasing, and maintenance of library collections that meet the needs of diverse learners
Planning and implementing the college's information competency goals and objectives
Designing and teaching library research skills and library technology courses
Utilizing Canvas and other online platforms to teach and communicate with students
Providing services in various instructional settings and times, including evenings and weekends
Communicating effectively with students and staff, and maintaining effective working relationships
Fulfilling all duties and responsibilities as required by Administrative Regulation 7122
Performing other duties as assigned


Requirements


Evidenced responsiveness to and understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students
A Master's in library science, library and information science, or a valid California Community College Credential, or equivalent education and/or experience


Preferred Qualifications


Experience and skill incorporating elements of diversity, equity, and inclusion into all areas of responsibility
Recent experience working with racially minoritized students
Willingness to examine and remediate instructional practices to engage and support racially minoritized students
Related work and professional experience
Experience working with students of various cultural, gender, age, socioeconomic, and ethnic backgrounds
Demonstrated ability to work with computers and technologies for high-quality instruction
Experience with Springshare LibChat, LibAnswers, and LibGuides
Knowledge of the community college and its mission and goals
