Director, Legal/Commercial Counsel

As Director, Legal, you’ll play a critical role in shaping and protecting Motus’s business as it scales. Reporting to the General Counsel and collaborating with a small, high-impact legal team, you’ll lead commercial contracting and provide counsel across SaaS transactions, data privacy, and emerging technologies such as AI and fintech. This role will also touch areas like M&A, regulatory compliance, product development, and international expansion—ideal for an agile attorney eager to take on a broad, strategic scope. You’ll serve as a trusted advisor across the organization, driving contract negotiations, mitigating risk, and ensuring operational excellence while enabling innovation and speed. The role demands both hands-on execution and high-level strategic thinking, blending legal rigor with business pragmatism. The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of legal experience across law firm and in-house environments, with deep expertise in SaaS contracting, data protection, and privacy law (CCPA, GDPR). Experience in fintech/payments, marketing, or commercial litigation is a plus.
