What You’ll Do: As a legal scopist, you are responsible for reviewing and editing transcripts prepared by court reporters to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with legal formatting standards. Scopists contribute directly to the production of precise, professional transcripts that are relied upon in legal proceedings. In this role, you will: • Review and refine deposition transcripts for grammar, formatting, and legal accuracy • Ensure strict adherence to company style guidelines and industry standards • Interact clearly and effectively with internal teams • Uphold confidentiality and deliver polished work reliably and on time Who You Are: • A seasoned legal scopist or experienced legal transcription editor • Well-versed in legal terminology, formatting, and style standards • Exceptionally detail-oriented, dependable, and capable of managing multiple projects • Comfortable and organized in a 1099 independent contractor role • Familiarity with AI transcription platforms is a strong bonus Additional Requirements: To perform this work, contractors should have a reliable computer, a stable internet connection, and a quality set of headphones. Full training will be provided on our proprietary software used for producing transcripts.
