About Scooter Your Way
Scooter Your Way, LLC is a Michigan-based micromobility company currently in its pre-launch phase. We are building the legal, operational, and structural foundation of the company before entering active market operations.
The Company has not yet launched, generated revenue, or secured outside funding. At this stage, there is no operating capital beyond founder investment and structured pre-launch planning. All foundational legal work is being completed prior to revenue generation.
Our approach is disciplined and preventative — we believe in resolving legal and compliance matters before launch, not after problems arise. The Company is founder-led with clear decision-making authority and structured governance standards.
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Legal Counsel / Legal Attorney to work directly with the Founder & CEO to establish and finalize the Company’s complete legal framework prior to launch.
This is a hands-on role. The selected attorney will draft, review, complete, and validate all core legal documents and ensure the Company is positioned to operate in full compliance with applicable state and federal laws.
Core Responsibilities
• Draft and finalize all foundational company a
greements
• Review and strengthen the Operating Agreement and governance structure
• Prepare and complete executive, contractor, and vendor agreements
• Draft NDAs, partnership agreements, and service contracts
• Structure rental agreements, liability waivers, and membership billing terms
• Develop and legally validate Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and refund policies
• Lead trademark clearance searches and file trademark applications with the United States Patent and Trademark Office for the Company name and logo
• Advise on intellectual property protection strategy
• Provide regulatory guidance related to micromobility operations
• Advise on risk mitigation, liability protection, and insurance alignment
• Prepare legal readiness for future funding and growth
Qualifications
• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited l
aw school
• Active bar license in good standing (Michigan preferred)
• Experience advising startups or early-stage businesses
• Strong background in business law and contract drafting
• Demonstrated experience filing and managing trademarks through the USPTO
• Ability to operate in a founder-led, early-stage environment
Compensation & Capital Transparency
Scooter Your Way is currently in its pre-revenue and pre-funding stage. The Company has not yet launched and does not currently generate revenue or maintain external investment capital.
Initial engagement will be structured on a mutually agreed hourly, project-based, deferred, or limited retainer basis during pre-launch. Any compensation structure will be clearly documented in writing prior to engagement.
Upon completion of the Company’s first full profitable fiscal year (defined as revenue exceeding operating expenses and achieving positive cash flow), the Legal Counsel may become eligible for:
• $85,000 annu
al salary
• Up to 1% equity in Scooter Your Way, LLC
Salary and equity are performance-based and contingent upon profitability, continued engagement, and execution of a formal written agreement. Neither salary nor equity is guaranteed prior to profitability.
All compensation and equity issuance remain subject to written approval by the Founder & CEO.
