Key job responsibilities
 Develop and implement complete security and logistical plans for domestic and international travel and appearances by senior executives and others.
 Make critical decisions, without management consultation or approval, regarding the expeditious and safe resolution of such situations, directing others, including non-employees, and interfacing with law enforcement.
 Analyze data from database and evaluate for severity and nature of risk to senior executives and others. Develop and implement appropriate security response to address risk.
 Conduct complex advance protective services planning, risk assessments and analysis, and liaise with business units to ensure confidentiality, access control, asset protection, and other security matters are adequately addressed.
 Coordinate security/logistical planning with other senior executive support staff, security personnel of other organizations, event planners, and law enforcement personnel, etc.
 Monitor security systems and supervise response to alarm conditions.
 Develop and implement crisis management plans for the senior executives and others.
 Develop and implement training for senior executives, senior executive support personnel and Protective Services Specialists.
 Hire and manage consultants as necessary.
 Interview, hire and supervise Protective Services Specialists.
Basic Qualifications
 Position requires occasional business travel domestically and internationally for up to a week or more with little or no notice. Requires valid passport.
 Formal training in executive protection, plus 5+ years of experience.
 A valid and active driverÂs license.
 On call availability 24/7. Ability to work a non-traditional schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
 BachelorÂs degree in Criminal Justice, Business Administration, or Security Management.
 Experience making high-stress decisions in a fast paced, dynamic environment with the ability to work with little to no supervision.
 Prior experience with a federal, state or local law enforcement agency is highly desirable.
 Experience developing and managing security plans for various sized events.
 Executive protection experience.
 Ability to work as an individual and part of a complex team.
 Supervisory experience is desirable.
 Investigative experience is highly desirable.
 Broad-based security experience is a plus.
 International travel/work experience and foreign language skills are desirable.
 Ability to make independent judgments with little or no oversight.
 Strong problem resolution and independent planning.
 Proven ability to apply sound judgment and use discretion when dealing with sensitive information.
 Excellent verbal and written communicator. Uses tact and diplomacy in all interactions. Comfortable and experienced interacting with senior executives.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $83,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $170,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
