Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Analyst to join our team at American Express in Nigeria. As a Financial Analyst, you will play a critical role in preparing financial statements, leading end-to-end legal entity reviews, and providing analysis of reporting data to support executive meetings.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare financial statements according to IFRS legal reporting requirements on a timely basis
Lead end-to-end legal entity reviews as directed by the Delivery Leader/Chief Legal Entity Reporting (LER)
Prepare local GAAP to US GAAP reconciliations, assessing significant changes for GAAP differences
Lead client calls and provide analysis of reporting data to support executive meetings
Manage delivery of multiple markets simultaneously and perform peer-level review or consolidation
Manage work and provide leadership and support to junior team members
Conduct research as needed on GAAP, regulations, and laws
Ensure effective controls and governance are adhered to

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., accounting, finance)
Minimum 3 years of post-qualification experience in public accounting, audit, or legal entity reporting
Strong financial accounting and reporting background, including knowledge of regulatory requirements
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency in MS-Office applications, with working knowledge of Essbase or similar software
