IT Portfolio Analyst

They are seeking a Portfolio Analyst to join their Small Business IT Portfolio team, where the role involves optimizing portfolio performance through strategic alignment, financial accountability, and continuous improvement.ResponsibilitiesSupport alignment of portfolio initiatives with organizational strategy and business objectives, ensuring IT execution delivers measurable outcomesPlan and monitor portfolio budgets, manage investment funding, and provide transparent financial reporting to enable informed decision-makingFacilitate adoption of agile practices across the portfolio; track and interpret key metrics (e.g., backlog health, lead time, throughput) to measure progress and value deliveryAssist in implementing lean governance principles to prioritize work, manage risk, and optimize resource allocation for maximum business impactContribute to workforce planning and analysis, ensuring the right skills and capacity are available to support strategic initiativesOversee day-to-day portfolio operations, including planning, monitoring, and coordination, to maintain delivery cadence and operational excellenceSupport vendor contract oversight, invoice reconciliation, and ensure compliance with audit and regulatory requirementsPrepare portfolio health reviews, scorecards, and MOR materials; champion a culture of innovation and continuous improvementPlay an integral role in Agile reporting tools integration (e.g., Clarity, Rally) and maintain accurate data for portfolio insightsSkills1–3 years of IT portfolio management experienceFamiliarity with software development processes, including iterative and incremental methodologiesProven experience managing financials and understanding IT financial management practicesSolid understanding of Agile and Scaled Agile frameworksIntermediate to advanced experience with MS ExcelStrong ability to influence and build effective partnerships across teamsExcellent communication skills—written, verbal, and presentationHands-on experience with Agile methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban1 year of industry experience preferredBenefitsShort-term or annual bonusesLong-term incentivesOn-the-spot recognitionCompany OverviewThe Hartford is an industry leading provider of property and casualty insurance, group benefits and mutual funds.
