Insurance Coverage & Bad Faith Litigation Attorney

We are working with a well-established, top-end law firm having a growing and dynamic litigation practice. The firm conducts a complex litigation and sophisticated business transactions practice in a broad range of industries on behalf of domestic and international clients through its California, Las Vegas, New York, Paris, and Hong Kong offices. It is currently seeking an Insurance Coverage & Bad Faith Litigation Attorney with 5+ yrs. of experience to join its Los Angeles, California office.

Responsibilities include litigating insurance and bad faith actions in California and other jurisdictions and providing a wide range of insurance coverage services to the firm’s clients. The ideal candidate will have extensive policy analysis and coverage opinion experience, as well as extensive experience with all facets of litigation (including bad faith litigation), namely: conducting legal research; doing legal and policy analysis; establishing case strategy; issuing and answering discovery; conducting and defending depositions; engaging in motion practice; preparing legal briefs and memoranda (including pre-trial memoranda); engaging in alternative dispute resolution; preparing for trial; and doing any other necessary litigation work, including post-trial and appellate work. The position offers the flexibility to work remotely or in the office. Salary is $150,000 - $200,000 depending upon experience. California attorney licensure in good standing is required.

Requirements:
• Minimum of five (5+) years of solid litigation experience, with at least two (2+) years handling coverage matters and litigating bad faith and/or insurance-related actions
• Ability to handle breach of contract litigation, bad faith litigation, and other insurance litigation from inception to trial, handling all facets of litigation, namely: legal research; legal and policy analysis; case and trial strategy planning; preparation of legal memoranda, pleadings, motions (and responses thereto), briefs, pre-trial memoranda, and post-trial filings, as appropriate, including appellate filings; and all elements of discovery and deposition practice.
• Demonstrated experience providing liability analyses to clients and fashioning litigation strategies commensurate with the case
• Experience with both state and federal court proceedings
• Ability to handle multiple priorities in a timely and professional manner
• JD with excellent academic credentials
• Current CA Bar admission in good standing
