About the position
The Information Technology Specialist 3 (Programming) position at the New York State Education Department involves serving as an Application Development and Support Specialist. Responsibilities
ā¢ Provide hands-on support, troubleshooting, and support services for multiple interfaces and integrations with the core VR Case Management.

ā¢ Document technical information and changes related to multiple integrations.

ā¢ Provide testing, defect analysis, and technical problem management support.

ā¢ Proactively monitor for system problems and provide hands-on issue resolution services.

ā¢ Partner with vendor staff, NYSED ITS staff, and ACCES business teams to provide a full range of operational support services.

ā¢ Participate in the testing of applications and products and develop test plans if needed.

ā¢ Provide help desk support, with knowledge of the Zendesk application preferred.

ā¢ Assist VR staff in root cause analysis of defects and application issues resolution.

ā¢ Assist subordinate staff in technical problem resolution as necessary.

ā¢ Support ongoing operations of the complete VR solution, including maintaining, enhancing, testing, and implementing changes.
Requirements
ā¢ A bachelor's or higher-level degree in any field including or supplemented by 15 semester credit hours in computer science with at least 9 semester credit hours in programming languages AND two years of experience in computer programming.

ā¢ An associate degree with 15 semester credit hours in programming languages AND four years of experience in computer programming.
