Grant Researcher & Grant Writer for Foundation and Program Funding Overview: We are a mission-driven foundation seeking an experienced grant researcher and grant writer to support both organizational capacity building and operating funding, as well as program-specific grants. This role focuses on identifying well-aligned funding opportunities and preparing thoughtful, high-quality applications that match the scale, readiness, and goals of the organization and its programs. Scope of Work: Responsibilities may include: Researching grants, foundations, and funding opportunities aligned with: Capacity building and operating support Program and project-based funding Community development, conservation, livelihoods, and social impact work Evaluating grant fit, competitiveness, and requirements Creating and maintaining a prioritized grant pipeline with deadlines Drafting, adapting, and submitting grant applications Tailoring proposals to different funder priorities while maintaining consistency Coordinating with internal stakeholders to collect budgets, narratives, and supporting documentation Tracking submissions, reporting requirements, and outcomes What We’re Looking For: Demonstrated experience researching and securing grants for foundations, nonprofits, or social impact initiatives Strong writing skills with the ability to clearly articulate mission, impact, and need Experience with capacity-building, operating, and/or programmatic grants Highly organized, deadline-driven, and able to work independently Practical, strategic approach to grant selection (quality over quantity) Nice to Have: Experience with international or community-based programs Familiarity with environmental, conservation, agriculture, or livelihoods funding Comfort working across multiple funding types simultaneously Project Structure: Initial contract focused on grant research and pipeline development Follow-on work for writing and submitting selected applications Opportunity for ongoing work based on performance and fit To Apply: Please include: A brief summary of your grant experience Examples of grants you’ve researched or written (general descriptions are fine) Your approach to identifying high-fit funding opportunities Any relevant sector experience If you are thoughtful about funder alignment, realistic about odds, and focused on building sustainable funding pipelines, we’d love to hear from you.
