At Barkie.ai, we're building the future of golf technology. Our AI-powered app, ScoreShot, digitizes golf scorecards instantly and integrates with the USGA GHIN system — and we're expanding into live round tracking, course mapping, and real-time on-course experiences.
We're looking for a GIS Engineer ready to hit the ground running. This is a contract role with an immediate start for the right fit.
️ What You'll Do
• Build and maintain Mapbox-powered course maps and hole overlays in React Native + TypeScript
• Integrate golf course GIS APIs (Golfbert, GolfCourseAPI, etc.) into our data pipeline
• Design geo-triggered notifications and location-aware on-course features
• Optimize map rendering performance for mobile
• Collaborate directly with our CTO and front-end team
✅ What We're Looking For
• 3–5 years of GIS or geospatial engineering experience
• Strong TypeScript skills
• Mapbox GL JS or Mapbox Maps SDK experience
• React Native mobile development experience
• Familiarity with GeoJSON, vector tiles, and spatial data formats
• Self-starter who can move fast and work autonomously
