GIS Analyst

They are seeking a Junior GIS Analyst to apply GIS knowledge to a variety of projects, create and edit spatial data, and assist in maintaining geospatial databases.ResponsibilitiesCreating and editing spatial data and mapping products and performing junior level geospatial analyses in support of our service lines and key areas of workGenerating, editing, and maintaining relational geospatial databasesAssist in updating and maintaining mapping standards and work processesAt times, supporting field activities as a field second (workload dependent)SkillsPossess an undergraduate degree in a related discipline or technical diploma1-3 years of experience in a similar roleUnderstanding of geographic and projected coordinate systems and transformationsProficient with ESRI ArcGIS Desktop software suite and extensionsProficient with ESRI ArcProWorking knowledge of ESRI Field Maps and Survey 123 data collection servicesAn ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures, regulations, drawings and job specificationsHave a keen eye for cartographic design and the capability to produce high quality cartographic productsExcellent communication skills (verbal and written)Ability to work well in a team atmosphereESRI Enterprise GeodatabasesESRI ArcGIS Enterprise (Portal) / OnlineFME or ESRI model builderAcquiring or processing UAV imageryExperience with linear infrastructure projects such as pipelinesAutoCAD Map or Civil 3DGIS Programming experience using technology such as Python, Arcade, R, JavaScript, C#, SQL, and related skillsField experience (along with applicable certifications)Experience in project planning and coordinationBenefitsSick daysFlexible work hours and schedulesTeam-based workCross-training opportunitiesCompany OverviewMontrose Environmental was one of the first to see environmental responsibility as not just an imperative but as a strategic asset.
