Job description: Field Service Generator EngineerSummary: We are seeking an experienced Field Service Generator Engineer to support the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of turbine generators. This role involves hands-on technical leadership and extensive travel to customer sites.Key Responsibilities:
Lead onsite installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of turbine generators.
Supervise field teams and coordinate subcontractors during repair and rewind projects.
Develop and implement testing procedures for generator performance.
Perform and analyze tests on hydrogen-cooled generators and voltage regulators.
Diagnose generator issues and provide technical solutions.
Communicate with customers and project teams to ensure smooth execution and reporting.
Remote & Travel frequently (70%+ overnight by land and air).
Support continuous improvement in delivery, cost, and efficiency.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proven experience with generator repair and use of electrical test equipment (e.g., Megger, DLRO, Tan Delta, Hi-POT).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Effective written and verbal communication abilities.
Proficient with spreadsheets, databases, technical diagrams, and email tools.
