About the Role:
Under the guidance of a licensed teacher or administrator, the General Education Teaching Assistant will play a vital role in supporting students' academic and personal growth. Responsibilities include:
Providing one-on-one and small group instruction, guidance, and reinforcement of skills and concepts
Maintaining accurate records of student progress, attendance, and test scores
Preparing instructional materials and assisting with lesson planning
Monitoring students in various settings to ensure a safe and positive learning environment
Participating in meetings and professional development activities
Requirements:
Valid Illinois Educator License with Stipulations (Paraprofessional or Professional Educator License or Substitute Teacher License)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work effectively with students, staff, and parents
Basic knowledge of job-related equipment and software
Experience working with children (preferred)
Ability to lift and move up to 30 pounds
