Functional / Integrative MD for AI-Driven Medical Platform + Remote Physician Support

We are an AI-driven medical platform that supports physicians by providing comprehensive insights to enhance patient care. We are expanding our clinical team and are seeking a Functional / Integrative MD who can work closely with our engineers and operations team while also serving as a remote physician for several members of our staff. About the Role: This is a part-time, remote position ideal for a physician who is comfortable with both clinical work and collaboration with an engineering team developing health-focused AI tools. You will offer high-level medical insight, help validate platform outputs, and provide personalized functional medicine care to a small group of staff members. This role combines: Clinical support for our internal AI development team – reviewing medical logic, validating outputs, contributing clinical insights, and guiding the construction of advanced medical reasoning models. Remote physician support for several members of our staff – providing functional medicine-based care, personalized plans, and ongoing telemedicine guidance. Responsibilities: Provide functional and integrative medical support to N1 Healthcare staff through telemedicine. Review AI-assisted outputs and offer medical insight to ensure accuracy, clarity, and safety. Work with engineers and product leads to refine the medical reasoning underlying our tools. Participate in asynchronous discussions, provide timely feedback, and support testing cycles. Maintain consistent availability and communication within a full-time, remote structure. Requirements: MD or DO with board certification or strong training in Functional Medicine, Integrative Medicine, Preventive Medicine, or similar modalities. Deep experience interpreting biomarkers, hormones, micronutrients, genetics, inflammation markers, and metabolic panels. Ability to translate complex medical concepts into clear logic for engineering teams. Telemedicine experience and comfort providing remote care. Reliable responsiveness and communication. Comfortable working hourly, with responsiveness, structured communication, and same-day turnaround on most tasks. Experience with telemedicine and remote patient care. Strong clinical reasoning and comfort giving definitive, evidence-based guidance. Preferred: IFM certification or equivalent functional/integrative training. Experience advising on or reviewing digital health or AI-based medical tools. What You’ll Do: Review, correct, and refine AI-generated medical interpretations across biomarkers, genetics, supplements, imaging findings, and clinical summaries. Collaborate directly with engineers, LLM specialists, and data scientists to shape medical logic, risk-scoring models, and clinical accuracy. Provide functional/integrative medical guidance to internal staff members through telemedicine appointments. Assist with building structured clinical reasoning pathways for chronic disease, longevity, inflammation, metabolic health, and related areas. Offer rapid feedback during model testing cycles and participate in short async review sprints. What We Offer: Long-term, ongoing hourly work.
