You have proven success in developing technical materials from conceptual ideas and are motivated by growth opportunities.ResponsibilitiesSystem Design & Architecture:Lead the technical architecture for backend services and core infrastructure.Design modular components for mission command and staff management (which could include constraint-based scheduling, task mapping, workflow automation, and using artificial intelligence to assist users with a wide range of operational and non-operational tasks).Backend DevelopmentBuild and scale RESTful APIs (or GraphQL) to power training workflows and data models.Experience with relevant python approaches in Ruby on Rails and/or Django.Integrate with DoD systems using secure data pipelines.Design robust data models for training events, unit hierarchies, METL tasks, and evaluations.Data IntegrationLead initiatives to “liberate” mission data from myriad repositories; Build pipelines to move data into storage and processing capabilities; Develop ways to organize and operationalize data and then visualize it in a way that helps people make decisions.JSON, XML, CSV processing and operationalizing will be recurring tasks. Building data processing and ETL pipelines using Apache Kafka or NiFi will almost certainly be required.A curiosity to fuse, integrate, and enrich new types of data is a requirement.Full StackCollaborate with frontend tools and component libraries (e.g., React, Tailwind, shadcn/ui).Develop interactive tools like drag-and-drop calendars, progress dashboards, and resource planners.DevOps & DeploymentMust have experience using/building container-based systems and must be proficient in using Docker; Kubernetes experience is a plus.Implement CI/CD pipelines for testing and deployment.Deploy infrastructure using AWS GovCloud, Azure Government, or secure DoD environments.Prioritize security, access control, and offline sync capabilities from day one.Requirements5+ years of experience in backend or full stack development (Node.js, Python, Ruby or Go preferred).Strong grasp of database architecture (PostgreSQL, or similar); Develop design schemas; build and manage relational models.Experience with authentication/authorization best practices.Familiarity with scalable, sustainable architectures and modular backends.Experience with project mapping tools (e.g., task hierarchy engines, Gantt timelines) and project management -type tools.Knowledge of military doctrine, niche data, and mission sets, or working with military SMEs.Comfort working in fast-moving, early-stage environments.Nice to HavesUnderstanding of RMF compliance, FedRAMP, or NIST 800-53 security standards.Experience interfacing with TAK server and the TAK ecosystem and CoT messages.Familiarity with frontend technologies (React, TypeScript, Tailwind) is a plus.Familiarity with Kotlin is a plus.Ability to obtain a Government Security Clearance.CompensationSalary ($150,000 - $170,000) + Equity Salary is determined by the applicant's experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, and alignment with market data.BenefitsMedical, Dental, Vision coverageParental LeaveHSA/FSA options401(k): 200% match for the first 6% contributedUnlimited Paid Time OffThis position will be open until it is successfully filled.
