Freelance QA Tester – Hourly Contractor

We are seeking an experienced QA Tester (Contractor) to support our team on an hourly, as-needed basis. This is a contractor position focused on assessing software quality through manual and automated testing. You will be responsible for finding and reporting bugs and glitches to ensure the delivery of high-quality products. In this role, you should have a keen eye for detail and excellent communication skills. If you are competent in executing test cases and passionate about quality, we’d like to meet you. Ultimately, you will help us ensure that our products, applications, and systems work correctly. Type of Engagement: • Independent Contractor • Hourly, as-needed basis • Flexible scheduling based on project requirements Location: • 100% Remote Responsibilities: • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to review and analyze system specifications. • Develop and execute effective test strategies and plans, including exploratory and regression testing. • Evaluate product code according to specifications, emphasizing proactive quality assurance throughout the development lifecycle. • Document testing phases and defects using industry-standard tools. • Report bugs and errors to development teams and assist in troubleshooting issues. • Conduct thorough post-release/post-implementation testing. Requirements: • Proven experience as a Quality Assurance Tester or in a similar role with 2+ years of experience. • Familiarity with Agile frameworks; experience in regression testing, functional, smoke, and exploratory tests. • Performance testing: loading and stress testing experience. • Ability to document and troubleshoot errors effectively. • Working knowledge of test management software (e.g., qTest, Zephyr) and SQL. • Postman, SoapUi. • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. • Attention to detail, analytical mindset, and strong problem-solving aptitude. • ISTQB certification is a plus. • Gherkin.
