Your conversations will be supported by brief, accurate notes made in the customer contact record, ensuring that we can continue to provide personalized support and guidance. Key Responsibilities Make outbound calls to blithequark beneficiaries and supporters, providing information on available services, support groups, and opportunities for social engagement and advocacy. Listen attentively to individuals, acknowledging their experiences, and building rapport to establish trust and understanding. Maintain accurate and concise records of conversations, ensuring that all interactions are documented and can inform future support. Work collaboratively with the blithequark team, sharing insights and best practices to continually improve our services and support. Participate in training and ongoing development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge, ensuring that you are equipped to provide the highest level of support. Essential Qualifications and Skills To succeed in this role, you will need to possess a unique blend of interpersonal and technical skills, including: A friendly, empathetic, and non-judgmental disposition, with the ability to listen actively and build rapport with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Confidence in using IT systems, including MS Windows and common software applications. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to adapt your approach to meet the needs of different individuals. A reliable broadband connection and a quiet, confidential space at home where you can make calls without distraction or interruption. A minimum commitment of four hours per week, for a period of around six months, with flexibility to make calls between 10am and 7pm. Preferred Qualifications and Experience While not essential, we are particularly interested in hearing from individuals who have lived experience of sight loss, as well as those who have experience working in support or advocacy roles. Additional skills or qualifications that would be beneficial include: Experience of working with individuals who have experienced sight loss or other disabilities. Knowledge of the challenges and opportunities associated with sight loss, and the ways in which blithequark supports individuals and communities. Fluency in languages other than English, reflecting the diversity of the communities we serve.
