Job Summary We're seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our team at Liberty Middle School. As a Special Education Teacher - Math Intervention and SLD Case Load, you will play a critical role in supporting students with special needs, helping them to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally. This is a 188-day contract position, projected to start on or after January 1, 2024, with a competitive salary based on the 2023-2024 Teacher's Salary Schedule. Key Responsibilities Provide high-quality instruction and support to students with special needs, particularly those with Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD) Teach Math Intervention curriculum as part of our Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) pathway Case manage middle school learners with SLD, developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and positive behavior plans Collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to create safe, healthy, and supportive learning environments Develop positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, fostering a culture of trust and respect Manage complex student behaviors, using evidence-based strategies and interventions Participate in ongoing professional development, staying current with best practices in special education Qualifications and Requirements To be considered for this role, you must possess: A Bachelor's Degree in one or more areas of Special Education (preferred) A North Dakota Teaching License with qualifications in one or more areas of special education A North Dakota Teaching License with qualifications in elementary education and/or secondary math education (preferred) The ability to develop positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues Preferred qualifications include: Experience managing complex student behaviors Prior experience working in a special education classroom A Master's Degree in Special Education Experience developing and implementing IEPs and positive behavior plans Skills and Competencies To be successful in this role, you will need to possess: Strong instructional skills, with the ability to adapt to diverse learning needs Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues A deep understanding of special education law, policy, and best practices The ability to analyze data and develop targeted interventions to support student learning A commitment to ongoing professional development, staying current with best practices in special education Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At West Fargo Public Schools, we're committed to supporting the ongoing growth and development of our staff.
