We are now seeking a highly skilled and passionate Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Teacher to join our team in Chattanooga, TN, to work with K-8 grade levels in a small group intervention setting. About the Position This very part-time position, requiring just 4 hours per week, preferably on Fridays, offers the unique opportunity to teach in-person at one of our partner schools in Chattanooga. As an SEL Intervention Teacher, you will play a critical role in helping students address their identified skill deficits and achieve on-level academic success. Our ideal candidate is someone who is not only experienced and qualified but also passionate about making a real difference in the lives of students. Key Responsibilities Deliver small group intervention (Tier 2) to students in K-8 grade levels, utilizing a prescribed curriculum and the gradual release model of instruction. Develop and maintain individualized, skill-appropriate lesson plans using company-provided curriculum and materials. Instruct students in face-to-face school settings, focusing on intervention in readiness, reading, mathematics, and writing skills. Ensure the supervision of students at all times, including safely escorting them to and from classrooms or learning stations. Perform timely data entry to meet deadlines, including student attendance, online pre/post testing, progress reports, and communication with parents and classroom teachers. Schedule and attend parent meetings and conferences as required. Maintain consistent communication with blithequark supervisors, classroom teachers, principals, and parents. Establish and maintain student forms and files as required by blithequark, local, state, and federal agencies. Essential and Preferred Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need: A Bachelor's Degree or higher in Education or a related field. Classroom teaching, internship, or tutoring experience, with a willingness and ability to teach various grade levels. A working knowledge of MS Office and familiarity with Zoom/Teams is preferred. A passion for helping students and making a positive impact on their educational journey. Preferred qualifications include experience with social-emotional learning, intervention strategies, and working with diverse student populations. Skills and Competencies The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, parents, and other stakeholders. You should be organized, flexible, and able to adapt to the needs of your students and the school environment. A strong understanding of educational principles and practices, particularly in social-emotional learning and intervention strategies, is essential.
