The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality standards in Material Handling Equipment (MHE) systems across multiple building types, collaborating with internal and external technical teams, and driving strategic initiatives to optimize quality and efficiency. Key Responsibilities As a Senior Quality Program Manager - Operations Engineering, your primary duties will include: Developing, implementing, and maintaining quality control processes and procedures to ensure the consistent quality of MHE systems Building key partnerships and programs that align vendor process and product build cycles with Amazon's growth and scale, with quality systems at the core of development Architecting a Built-in Quality (BIQ) mentality and validation program to align vendors with cultural and procedural transformations Collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure quality tools and programs meet business needs Leading and coordinating execution efforts between internal teams and outside vendors to drive quality improvements Working directly with vendors to issue Change Requests, negotiate Change Orders, and secure funding for additional qualification scope as necessary Continuously assessing quality processes to identify opportunities for improvement, efficiency gains, and cost reduction Championing quality in actions and culture, and promoting a quality-focused mindset across the organization Ability to travel up to 75% to interact with internal and external business and technical leaders A Day in the Life As a Senior Quality Program Manager at Amazon, you will be part of a dynamic team that values innovation, creativity, and collaboration. Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need: Basic Qualifications A Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or another STEM field, or 2+ years of relevant Amazon experience 8+ years of experience as a project engineer, process engineer, project manager, manufacturing engineer, or related occupation Experience with design, installation, commissioning, or maintenance of complex MHE systems in package sortation, fulfillment, and distribution facilities Strong skills with Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Project, and Outlook Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Preferred Qualifications A Master's degree in Engineering, Operations, Business Administration, or a related STEM field Six Sigma Certification 8+ years of experience related to quality control, transportation/logistics, and/or fulfillment/distribution centers Advanced knowledge of fulfillment/distribution operations 5+ years of experience with Material Handling Elements, MHE design, installation, commissioning, maintenance of high-speed, automated sortation, PLC-controlled multiple conveyor subsystems, and equipment integrated with robotics Career Growth and Learning Benefits At Amazon, we are committed to the growth and development of our employees. The base pay for this position ranges from $107,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $177,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors, including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
