Key Responsibilities Develop Mathematical Models: Create mathematical models based on business requirements to drive solution development. Design Solution Approaches: Develop solution strategies to tackle complex models and business problems. Coding and Implementation: Write code to execute solution strategies and ensure seamless integration with existing systems. Technical Documentation: Prepare technical documentation of models and solution approaches to facilitate knowledge sharing and collaboration. Review and Testing: Conduct reviews of models, solution approaches, and code with the team to ensure collective understanding and accuracy. Collaboration and Communication: Work effectively with business clients, technology development teams, and support teams to refine solutions and ensure alignment with business objectives. Leadership and Mentoring: Provide leadership, guidance, and mentoring to less-experienced colleagues to foster growth and development. Continuous Improvement: Offer support for developed applications on an as-needed basis, making upgrades, or recalibrating as the business problem evolves. Essential Qualifications To succeed in this role, you must possess: A Bachelor's degree in Operations Research, Optimization, Applied Mathematics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Master's level insight and extensive knowledge in applying Operations Research techniques in a business environment. Proficiency in standard programming languages and related development tools (compilers, debuggers, etc.). Excellent optimization skills and the ability to think logically and creatively. Strong collaboration, communication, and negotiation skills to effectively interact with business clients and technology development and support teams. The ability to perform root cause analysis, design complex solutions, write code, perform testing, provide documentation, and implement improvement projects. Preferred Qualifications While not mandatory, the following qualifications are highly desirable: Experience with building optimization models and solutions using tools like Xpress, CPLEX, or other modern strength LP/IP instruments. A PhD in a relevant field with lesser business experience. Skills and Competencies The ideal candidate will possess: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
