About the Role of a Medical Virtual Assistant We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Medical Virtual Assistant to join our team. As a Medical Virtual Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our healthcare clients by preparing and assembling medical record documentation, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing exceptional customer service. Key Responsibilities Prepare and assemble medical record documentation/charts for physicians, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail. Ensure medical record compliance by self-documentation attestation and adherence to hospital and medical facility policies, including those relating to HIPAA and Joint Commission. Update patient history, physical exam, and other pertinent health information in the patient's record, maintaining confidentiality and discretion at all times. Prepare and send all documentation to physicians for review and approval via authentication of detailed data entry and facility-specific procedures. Monitor the duration of basic lab results and screening procedures, ensuring timely follow-up and communication with healthcare providers. Perform other clerical duties and tasks to improve provider productivity and clinic workflow as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrate understanding necessary to assess, review, and apply criteria, using critical thinking and problem-solving skills to resolve issues and improve processes. Essential Qualifications Previous experience in a customer service or healthcare-related role, preferably in a medical office or clinical setting. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with healthcare providers, patients, and colleagues. Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail, with a focus on delivering high-quality results in a timely manner. Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment, maintaining organization and composure under pressure. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic medical records (EMR) systems, with a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies. Compassionate and empathetic demeanor, with a strong commitment to delivering patient-centered care and support. Preferred Qualifications Certification as a Medical Assistant or completion of a medical assisting program. Experience working in a virtual or remote environment, with a strong understanding of the challenges and opportunities of remote work. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology, with a strong foundation in healthcare principles and practices. Experience with practice management software and other healthcare technologies, with a willingness to learn and adapt to new systems. Technical Requirements Desktop/Laptop with at least i3/Ryzen3 processor and 8gb of Ram, with a reliable internet connection and necessary software. Webcam, Noise Cancelling headset, and 30mbps internet speed or above, to ensure high-quality video conferencing and communication.
