Job Summary: Key Responsibilities and Expectations As a Medical Assistant I in our Family Medicine department, you'll be an integral part of our patient care team. Your primary responsibilities will include: Assisting physicians and other clinicians with clinical duties, such as taking medical histories and assisting in physical examinations Acting as a liaison between patients, physicians, and other clinicians to ensure effective communication and care coordination Measuring patients' vital signs and preparing them for exams and procedures Preparing and administering vaccines and medications as directed Accurately documenting patient information into our electronic health record system Collecting specimens for testing and ensuring timely lab results You'll also be expected to provide exceptional patient care, respond to patient inquiries, and maintain a clean and organized workspace. Your role will be crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical practice and delivering high-quality patient experiences. Essential and Preferred Qualifications Required Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED Graduate of a medical assistant program or at least one year of medical assistant or equivalent experience Good communication skills and experience using a keyboard and computers Familiarity with equipment used in ambulatory care settings Current AHA CPR certification (or willingness to obtain certification within one year of hire) Ability to travel locally to multiple sites as needed Ability to work in stressful conditions and difficult situations Resilient and flexible in a changing environment Ability to cooperate and work with others Ability to make sound and timely decisions and work rotating shifts, including evenings and weekends Ability to perform lifting/transfer activities related to patients as needed, with the ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience in a family medicine or primary care setting Certification from a recognized certifying body, such as NHA, AMT, AAMA, NCCT, or AMCA Strong clinical and administrative skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with diverse patient populations Skills and Competencies Required for Success To excel in this role, you'll need to possess a range of skills and competencies, including: Strong clinical knowledge and skills, with the ability to apply them in a fast-paced medical practice Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, providers, and other team members Ability to work in a team environment, collaborating with others to achieve common goals Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities Ability to adapt to changing situations and priorities, remaining flexible and resilient in a dynamic environment Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At workwarp, we're committed to supporting the growth and development of our team members.
