Job Summary
As a Manager - Data Engineering at Puma, you will be responsible for designing and implementing data solutions in the cloud, leading a team of data engineers, and driving the development of innovative data products. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify business needs and develop data-driven solutions that meet those needs. Your expertise in cloud technologies, data engineering, and leadership will be essential in driving the success of our data initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement data warehousing solutions, including all layers of data architecture (ingestion, storage, serving layer) in Azure cloud.
Plan and develop data processing solutions using various ETL tools for data ingestion, cleansing, transformation, and workflow management.
Design and implement data security solutions using role-based access control, masking, and encryption of sensitive data.
Monitor and optimize data warehousing and data processing solutions using monitoring tools and techniques, such as query optimization and indexing.
Lead and mentor other team members on technical skills and best practices.
Oversee partners and drive timely execution of tasks using agile methodologies.
Build robust and scalable technology solutions in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field of study.
Profound understanding of cloud technologies and experience delivering large-scale projects on time.
Excellent knowledge of Azure Synapse Analytics (formerly Azure SQL Data Warehouse), ADF, and Azure SQL Pools.
Strong expertise in PySpark, Spark SQL, T-SQL, and data modeling.
Great to have knowledge of Azure Functions (coded in Python).
Excellent understanding of Agile methodologies to deliver reliable project results.
Highly analytical with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ideally, a certification in DP-203 (Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate).
