Payroll Specialist

The Payroll Specialist will provide administrative support for payroll functions, ensuring legal compliance, accurate data entry, and timely payroll processing while delivering superior customer service to employees.ResponsibilitiesProcess and administer weekly hourly payroll, including data entry, adjustments, and audits for accuracyCoordinate with managers to ensure timely and accurate collection of time and payroll dataMaintain employee records (new hires, terminations, rate changes) and ensure payroll complianceAddress payroll inquiries, including unionized employee matters, and resolve discrepanciesCalculate gross-to-net payments, vacation accruals, and manage Record of Employment (ROE) issuanceEnsure compliance with CRA, Employment Standards, and Workersβ Compensation requirementsSupport year-end processes (T4s, reconciliations) and provide ongoing technical support to employeesAssist with administrative duties such as filing and shreddingPerform other related duties as assignedSkillsBachelor's degree or equivalent, with PCP or CPM certification (Canadian Payroll Association)1β3 years of full-cycle payroll experience in a multi-province environment (ON, BC, QC)Knowledge of payroll compliance, accounting, and payroll software (JDE an asset)Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to handle confidential informationExcellent communication and interpersonal skills; proficient in MS OfficeBenefitsComprehensive health, dental and medical benefits, including wellness supports, RSP matching and generous vacationService milestones and peer recognition plus Employee Discounts and IncentivesHybrid working models, where applicableAn inclusive organization that embraces diversity and belonging; work in a great team atmosphere with future potential for promotion within companyCompany OverviewOur customers depend on their buildings, industrial assets, processes, and energy management, to help them meet competitive challenges.
