Job Summary We're looking for a highly motivated and physically capable Ramp Service Employee (RSE) to work in our night shift operations. As an RSE, you'll play a critical role in handling baggage, cargo, and freight between airport facilities and aircraft, as well as receiving and dispatching aircraft. Key Responsibilities Lift, move, and handle baggage, cargo, and freight weighing up to 70 lbs. while loading/unloading aircraft, trucks, and containers. Load and unload aircraft, which may require lifting over 100 items per aircraft. Push and pull loaded and empty trucks and containers during loading/unloading operations. Couples and uncouples trucks and cargo container carts. Climb and descend aircraft steps while carrying baggage. Bend, stoop, and crawl to move and load/unload cargo in aircraft and compartments. Complete safety checklists for automated equipment. Operate and drive automated equipment (e.g., transport line). Read and interpret aircraft load sheets, checked baggage labels, and cargo marks. Count baggage and cargo being loaded/unloaded during operations. Use flagging devices to communicate with associates or flight crew. Ensure compliance with United Airlines and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and policies. Requirements and Qualifications To succeed in this role, you'll need: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent education. A valid state-issued driver's license. A clean driving record. Pass a background check. Be eligible to obtain and maintain required clearances for the position, including FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs, and U.S. Postal Service clearances. Pass a pre-employment physical ability test, hearing and vision tests, and drug screen. Be available to work night shifts, weekends, and holidays, with mandatory overtime as needed. Fluent reading, writing, and communication skills in English. Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. Capability to perform various physical tasks, including bending, stooping, climbing, and working in confined spaces. Work outdoors in all temperatures and weather conditions. Work in areas with high noise levels. Not have lived outside the US in the past 3 years for any period longer than 6 months, except for military duty or government-approved exceptions. Be lawfully authorized to work in the US for any employer without sponsorship. Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are preferred: Previous experience in a related field, such as customer service, logistics, or aviation. Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Knowledge of FAA regulations and policies. Certification in automated equipment operation.
