Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Technician II to join our team, primarily focusing on the existing distribution system and facilities. As an Engineering Technician II, you will be responsible for researching and designing potential additions and modifications to the distribution system, utilizing budgeted and allocated resources in an effective, efficient, and professional manner. You will ensure compliance with applicable codes, company policies, and goals, while delivering high-quality results and exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Generate and review construction and station drawings for capital replacement and betterment projects
Place and incorporate responses to PA 1 Call-Act 121 design requests into drawings
Draft sketches and plans necessary for state and local permits
Research internal records via MapFrame, Design Manager, service line database, and other systems to generate construction and station drawings
Conduct field visits to capture locations of existing above-grade features
Communicate and internally coordinate workload priorities with engineers and supervisors regarding construction and station drawings
Review roadway construction plans from state, municipalities, contractors, and/or developers for conflicts and/or needed system maintenance
Process PA 1 Call-Act 121 design requests as required
Represent the company at meetings with third-party consultants to convey expectations and verify adherence to construction drawing standards


Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:

An Associate's Degree in Engineering Technology or a related field
Working knowledge and experience with CAD in gas pipeline installation and maintenance
A general knowledge of, or aptitude in learning, the properties of natural gas as they relate to pressure and flow
Familiarity with codes and standards, such as Federal (DOT), State (PUC and PennDOT), and local codes
Aptitude in learning new computer systems, including Microsoft Office and company-specific systems like Design Manager, Mapframe, and ArcGIS
High School Diploma or equivalent
Valid Driver's License


Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:

Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in the natural gas industry
Strong understanding of gas facility construction and maintenance principles
Experience with office workflow procedures and available resources, such as maps and records, maintenance reports, and timesheets
Excellent communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work effectively with engineers, supervisors, and third-party consultants
