You'll lead a team of experienced security professionals in gathering, analyzing, and interpreting data from various sources to provide actionable insights and recommendations. Your expertise will be instrumental in driving the development and implementation of IAM controls, ensuring that American Express remains a leader in security and compliance. **Key Responsibilities** As a Director of Information Security (IAM), your key responsibilities will include: * Providing strategic leadership and vision for IAM initiatives, ensuring that American Express maintains the highest standards of security and compliance * Leading a team of security experts, directors, and specialists in gathering, analyzing, and interpreting data from various sources to provide actionable insights and recommendations * Ensuring the ongoing effectiveness and efficiency of key IAM controls, including Access Surveys and Renouncement Cycles * Identifying opportunities to reduce friction by driving the team to design solutions that proactively minimize the need for human intervention in IAM controls * Collaborating with other teams within Data Security to ensure IAM controls are integrated into a comprehensive security strategy that protects American Express clients, partners, and investors from security risks * Developing and training a team of experienced security professionals to ensure their continued growth and commitment * Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including business leaders, security teams, and external partners **Essential Qualifications** To be successful in this role, you'll need: * A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Security, or a related field, or equivalent work experience * At least 3 years of experience in a role focused on data security, with a strong understanding of IAM concepts and principles * At least 3 years of experience in a leadership position, with a proven track record of training and developing others in professional growth * Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to lead a team in developing these skills * Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders * Experience with risk management frameworks, such as NIST, and regulatory frameworks, such as PCI * Strong understanding of the audit and regulatory environment of financial institutions **Preferred Qualifications** While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable: * CISSP, CISM, or other related certifications * Six Sigma or other related quality management certifications **What We Offer** As a Director of Information Security (IAM) at American Express, you'll enjoy a competitive salary, comprehensive benefits package, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
