Job Overview We're seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Data Entry Specialist to join our growing team. As a key member of our administrative support team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and consistency of our data. Your primary responsibility will be to read and enter data from various documents, including work orders, shipping orders, and customer service documents, into our computer systems. You will work independently with minimal supervision, verifying the information before entry and ensuring that it is consistent in format. To maintain a varied and engaging work environment, you will also be responsible for filing, copying, and other administrative duties. Key Responsibilities Read and decipher customer and shipping orders submitted in person, via print catalog, and online, including handwritten documents that may be challenging to read Key data into specific Microsoft Excel fields, with a focus on accuracy and consistency, and utilize existing data from online orders to streamline the process Read and key in data from other source documents, ensuring that all information is accurate and up-to-date Verify the accuracy of data before entry and ensure that it is consistent throughout the system, including updating customer information such as addresses Report any data errors or anomalies to your supervisor, and maintain accurate and updated logs of ongoing work Perform filing, copying, and other administrative duties for approximately three hours per day, with the remaining five hours dedicated to data entry keying Qualifications and Skills To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications and skills: Required Qualifications Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook Excellent reading comprehension and critical thinking skills Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Good communication skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision Patience and ability to focus on repetitive tasks for extended periods Preferred Qualifications Reading knowledge of English, with approximately 5-10% of orders also in Spanish One to two years of experience in data entry and/or filing, with a proven track record of accuracy and efficiency Social perceptiveness and service orientation, with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service Career Growth and Development At blithequark, we're committed to the growth and development of our employees.
