About the Role: Transforming Data into Business Insights We're seeking an experienced Data Analyst to join our team on a full-time remote basis. As a Data Analyst at Avelo Airlines, you will play a critical role in designing, building, and utilizing data to drive business impact through engineering, reporting, and analysis. This position requires close collaboration with our Director of Algorithms and other stakeholders across technology and business departments to ensure that raw data is transformed into meaningful and actionable insights for decision-making and strategic planning. Key Responsibilities Data Management Develop and maintain our single source of truth by distilling complex third-party software data into intuitive and scalable reporting tables. Ingest external data to enhance reporting and analysis. Promote data democratization and self-service across the organization. Support and drive data-driven decision-making. Reporting Build actionable reports used by various departments. Design and monitor key performance metrics. Identify business opportunities and ensure stakeholder satisfaction. Analysis Translate business problems into analytical projects. Apply data modeling to gain actionable insights. Prepare and present findings to all levels of management. Management Communicate and drive the data roadmap with stakeholders. Work with business leaders to create requirements and execute initiatives. Mentor analysts, set deadlines, and uphold data and analytics standards. Identify opportunities to improve business processes. Essential Qualifications and Skills To succeed in this role, you must have: A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, Economics, or a related field. Eight+ years of experience in an analytical role. Five+ years of management experience. Additionally, you should possess: High proficiency in SQL and ETL tools. Proficiency in building visualizations through reporting software such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar. Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Some programming skills in languages like VBA, Python, C#, etc. Ability to manage a team of Data Engineers and Analysts. Strong business acumen and ability to articulate complex concepts simply. Analytical flair and action-oriented mindset. Experience with cloud technologies like Azure, AWS, or GCP is a plus. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
