How This Position Supports the Department's Vision In this role, you will play a critical part in helping Missouri taxpayers by answering their questions and resolving their business and individual tax issues through live chats, emails, and phone calls. Your responsibilities will be diverse and challenging, including resolving tax issues, assisting businesses in obtaining licenses, running tax compliance checks, issuing No Tax Due statements, and establishing individual and business payment plan agreements. You will be the face of our department, providing timely and accurate support to our customers, and ensuring that their experiences with us are positive and productive. Duties Performed to Support the Department's Vision As a Customer Service Representative, your duties will include: Researching and resolving tax issues for both internal and external customers Collecting delinquent taxes through the use of multiple collection tools Interacting with customers via telephone, email, live chat, in person, and written correspondence Analyzing customers' reasons for calling and recommending process improvements Utilizing communication skills and multiple computer systems to multi-task and provide efficient support Core Competencies Needed To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following core competencies: Attention to Detail : The ability to accurately process and resolve customer inquiries and issues Clear Communication : Effective verbal and written communication skills to interact with customers and internal stakeholders Computer Literacy : Proficiency in using multiple computer systems and software applications Multi-tasking : The ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment Reliable : A strong work ethic and commitment to meeting deadlines and delivering results Self-motivated : The ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve departmental goals Minimum Qualifications To be considered for this position, you must meet the following minimum qualifications: Possess a high school diploma or high school equivalency certification Have six or more months of experience in clerical or general office support work Be proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Office and other software applications What We Offer In addition to a competitive salary range of $33,914.40 - $36,627.60, we offer an excellent benefits package that includes: A defined pension plan Generous amounts of leave and holiday time Eligibility for health insurance coverage A comprehensive Total Compensation Calculator to help you understand the value of working for the State of Missouri Work Environment and Company Culture We are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees, and we celebrate diversity in all its forms.
