About the Role As a Chip Level Library & Design Optimization Engineer, you will be an integral part of our Computerized Plan IP bunch, transforming innovative ideas into reality. You'll work closely with our team to apply engineering principles, develop new concepts, and bring them to life. Your contributions will be pivotal in designing the tools that enable us to deliver unprecedented user experiences across Apple's product lineup, including iPhones, Macs, and watches. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with cross-functional teams to pathfind and validate standard-cell and block-level DTCO sponsors for enhanced Power and Execution in cutting-edge semiconductor technologies. Serve as a liaison between internal Technology, Logic, Memory configuration groups, CAD, and PnR execution teams to plan production flows and define PDK requirements with foundry partners. Analyze and interpret complex Power Performance Area (PPA) projections for logic, memory, custom IP, and block-level design promoters. Develop strategies for IP configuration, balancing library architecture/design, chip-level PPA requirements, technology interactions, and metal stack advancements. Work closely with the technology team and foundry to define requirements and optimize processes for power, timing, area, and yield for Apple silicon designs. Essential Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Engineering, Computer Science, etc.). At least 3 years of relevant industry experience in silicon design, library development, or a related area. Demonstrated understanding of advanced CMOS device behavior, device physics, and their impact on SoC design PPA metrics. Strong knowledge of yield analysis, including defect Pareto optimization and Failure Analysis methodology, and benchmarking practices. Proficiency in data analysis and statistical analysis tools for both device and yield analysis. Preferred Qualifications Experience with circuit analysis, extraction, and SPICE simulation for PPA benchmarking applications. Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively support initiatives internally and externally. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
