Position Overview Job Title: Biology Tutor Location: North Canton, OH (Main Campus) and Akron Campus, with some online hours available Start Date: Immediate openings available Compensation: Competitive salary ($14.81 - $19.99 per hour) Hours of Work: Up to 29 hours per week, with flexible scheduling (Mon-Thu 10:00am-5:00pm, Fri-Sat 10:00am-2:00pm, Sun-Thu 4:00pm-10:00pm) Key Responsibilities Engage students and provide systematic and consistent learning support services in a positive and efficient manner Assist students with lecture or lab material in chemistry courses, study methods, and technology needed to complete course-related material Greet students and visitors, and provide general information about the college and its services Tutoring will take place primarily in-person at the main campus or Akron location, with online tutoring available based on hourly needs Collaborate with faculty to ensure students receive comprehensive support Utilize technology, including Microsoft Office Applications, to enhance tutoring sessions Requirements and Qualifications Bachelor's Degree: In biology or a closely related field (e.g., medical degree, chiropractor, exercise physiology, or physical therapy) Preferred Coursework: Anatomy or physiology Skills and Competencies: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to relate to a diverse student population with ingenuity, creativity, and compassion Comfort with technology usage, including Microsoft Office Applications Strong problem-solving and analytical skills What We Offer Competitive Salary: $14.81 - $19.99 per hour Comprehensive Benefits: Part-time employees receive state pension/retirement (OPERS/STRS) Paid Stark State tuition Employee assistance program Opportunities for Growth: Professional development and training opportunities to enhance your skills and career Supportive Work Environment: Collaborative and inclusive work environment with a focus on student success Why Join Our Team?
