In response, we have created Collegewise Academic Services, our tutoring arm, to provide a better way - one that focuses on unlocking potential, telling families the truth, and putting prep in its proper place. We are now seeking experienced and passionate part-time tutors to join our team in Bernardsville, NJ, and make a meaningful difference in the lives of our students. About the Role As a part-time tutor with Collegewise, you will have the opportunity to instruct high school students in a variety of subjects, including ACT, SAT, ISEE/SSAT, AP exams, academic subjects, and study skills. You will also have the chance to teach GRE and GMAT to graduate students. This is a 100% remote role, allowing you to work from the comfort of your own home and have full control over your work environment. You will be paired with a local Collegewise office and work closely with our team to provide exceptional support to our students. Key Responsibilities Instruct students privately at our offices or online via Skype, FaceTime, Zoom, etc. Teach small groups of students, primarily for ACT/SAT/AP exam preparation Work a minimum of 10 hours per week, with the potential for more hours based on your subjects of expertise and demand Collaborate with our team to develop and implement effective tutoring strategies Communicate with parents and students to provide progress updates and support Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need: A four-year college degree The ability to score in the 95th percentile or above in your chosen subjects (ACT/SAT, Subject Tests, or AP exams) Academic subjects: 95th percentile on the associated Subject Test(s) GMAT and GRE tutors: 90th percentile Excellent communication and interpersonal skills The ability to work independently and as part of a team A strong passion for teaching and helping students achieve their potential Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are preferred: Previous tutoring or teaching experience Knowledge of the college admissions process and standardized testing Experience working with students of varying skill levels and learning styles Familiarity with online tutoring platforms and technology Skills and Competencies To excel in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and competencies: Strong subject matter expertise in your chosen areas Excellent communication and interpersonal skills The ability to adapt to different learning styles and needs Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude Strong organizational and time management skills The ability to work independently and as part of a team Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Collegewise, we are committed to the growth and development of our tutors.
