Job Summary The role of the CATE ICT Teacher is to provide high-quality instruction, guidance, and support to students in the classroom and other assigned areas. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering engaging lesson plans, collaborating with colleagues and administrators, and responding to inquiries from students, parents, and guardians. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with stakeholders to establish and maintain positive relationships and high expectations for student learning Design and deliver instruction that engages and challenges students, taking into account diverse learning styles and needs Develop and guide learning in partnership with students, focusing on continuous improvement and alignment with state and district standards Evaluate individual and class performance, analyzing data and adjusting instruction to improve student outcomes Implement current best practice instruction and resources, staying up-to-date with the latest developments in ICT and education Maintain documentation and required reports, ensuring compliance with site, district, policy, administrative, state, and/or federal statutes and regulations Manage classroom structure and procedures, establishing a positive, safe, and orderly learning environment Model positive behaviors, promoting appropriate social and interpersonal behavior in alignment with district goals Oversee assistant teachers, student teachers, instructional assistants, volunteers, and/or student workers, ensuring the operation of an effective and efficient classroom structure Participate in meetings and professional growth opportunities, conveying and/or gathering information to perform functions Respond to emergency situations, resolving immediate safety concerns and/or directing to appropriate personnel for resolution Essential Qualifications and Requirements To be considered for this role, you will need to meet the following essential qualifications and requirements: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as education or computer science Current Louisiana teacher certification Strong knowledge and understanding of ICT and education, including current best practices and technologies Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, and administrators Strong commitment to student learning, with a focus on continuous improvement and academic excellence Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities Proficiency in general use of a computer, email, and other job-specific equipment, software, and/or applications Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following qualifications and skills are preferred: Master's degree in a relevant field, such as education or computer science Experience teaching ICT or a related subject, with a proven track record of success Knowledge and understanding of educational technologies, including learning management systems and online resources Experience with project-based learning, flipped classrooms, and other innovative instructional approaches Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to oversee and support assistant teachers, student teachers, and instructional assistants Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At East Baton Rouge Parish School System, we are committed to supporting the ongoing professional development and growth of our teachers.
