About the Role We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Art Instructor to teach our after-school art programs in Morristown, NJ. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for art and working with children, as well as excellent communication and lesson planning skills. Key Responsibilities Plan and implement engaging art lessons for children aged 5-12, with a focus on beginner level Provide instructions on how to draw, paint, and color using different creative methods Create a positive and inclusive class environment, allowing kids to feel valued and supported Monitor and ensure the safety and well-being of all participants during art classes Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that cater to the needs of all students Evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback to help them improve Collaborate with other instructors and staff members to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment Essential Qualifications A strong passion for art and working with children Knowledge of different art techniques, including coloring, drawing, and painting Experience teaching art to kids is a plus, but not required Ability to create fun, engaging, and age-appropriate lesson plans Excellent communication skills and the ability to provide positive feedback Energetic, patient, and knowledgeable on how to share positive feedback and motivate students Preferred Qualifications Degree in Fine Arts or Education, or a related field Experience working with children in an educational or recreational setting First aid and CPR certification Ability to speak multiple languages Skills and Competencies To be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with children and adults. You will also need to be highly organized, flexible, and able to think creatively.
