Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Adjunct Instructor in Music to teach the Music Business class within the Sound Recording Degree program at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. The ideal candidate will be familiar with the structure of the music industry, current copyright law, recording, publishing, and performance contracts, performing rights organizations and royalty payments, marketing and promotional strategies as they apply to the music industry, and the impact of emerging technologies on the music industry.
Key Responsibilities
Teach the Music Business class in the curriculum of the Music Department's Sound Recording Degree program
Develop and implement engaging lesson plans to promote student learning and understanding of music business concepts
Evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback to ensure student success
Collaborate with other faculty members to develop and implement curriculum changes and improvements
Participate in departmental meetings and activities to contribute to the growth and development of the Music Department
Essential Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in Music or a related field (master's degree preferred)
Experience teaching music business or a related course at the college or university level
Familiarity with the music industry, including current copyright law, recording, publishing, and performance contracts
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
