Engagement & Leadership Intern

Remote Full-time
Engagement & Leadership Intern/Fellow

For over a century, National Council of Jewish Women (NCJW) has been at the forefront of social change, championing the needs of women, children, and families while taking a progressive stance on such issues as reproductive health, rights, and justice; economic justice; voter engagement; the federal courts, and more.

The National Council of Jewish Women (NCJW) is excited to offer internships for rising college juniors and seniors, as well as fellowships for graduate students, within our Engagement & Leadership Team. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in nonprofit advocacy, community engagement, event planning, and leadership development.

As an intern with NCJW, you will learn the intricacies of relationship-building in the nonprofit sector while contributing to meaningful work on behalf of gender equity, racial justice, and progressive change. This program is ideal for individuals who are passionate about social justice, civic engagement, and creating lasting, positive change.

We are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment, and we encourage applicants from all backgrounds to apply. While in-person internships/fellowships are preferred for a more immersive experience, we are also happy to accommodate remote applicants from across the country.

Key Responsibilities & Opportunities:
• Event Planning & Execution: Play a vital role in the planning and coordination of our flagship event, the Washington Institute. This multi-day event brings together leaders, advocates, and activists to engage in learning, networking, and advocacy. You'll assist with logistics, content development, and event promotion, gaining valuable experience in large-scale event management.
• Relationship Building & Networking: Work closely with NCJW leaders, advocates, and partners nationwide. Help cultivate relationships with key stakeholders and assist in maintaining our growing network of supporters and volunteers. This role will provide you with excellent exposure to high-level organizational operations and leadership.
• Advocacy & Communications Support: Assist in the development and implementation of advocacy campaigns related to social justice and women's rights. Support NCJW's communications efforts, including writing, editing, and managing digital content for social media and other platforms.
• Administrative & Operational Support: Provide essential administrative support for the department, including managing schedules, preparing materials, coordinating meetings, and helping with day-to-day operations. You will gain a comprehensive understanding of how a nonprofit organization functions behind the scenes.

Professional Development: Participate in regular training sessions, mentorship opportunities, and collaborative projects designed to enhance your leadership, advocacy, and communication skills. You'll work alongside experienced professionals in the nonprofit sector, gaining invaluable insights and connections to help further your career.
