We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Roller Enrichment Academy (REA) Tutor to join our Youth and Family Education department. As a REA Tutor, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of Steelton-Highspire Elementary School students, providing a nurturing and educational environment that fosters academic excellence and personal growth.
This part-time position (12 hours/week, Monday-Thursday during the school year) offers a competitive hourly rate of $15.50, a flexible hybrid remote arrangement, and the chance to work with a diverse and experienced team. Key Responsibilities:
Create a quality, nurturing, and educational program environment by demonstrating proficiency in assigned curriculum and effectively implementing lesson plans developed by REA Teachers
Use a variety of curriculums, including Sonday system, Heggerty Phonemic Awareness, Journeys, Wit and Wisdom, Saxon, EnVision, and Xtra Math, to support student learning
Attend all trainings and be willing to learn and assist with other assigned curriculums and implement lessons
Provide excellent organizational and record-keeping skills, with a focus on confidentiality and cultural flexibility
Requirements:
High School Diploma with 2 years of work-related experience in tutoring, Elementary Education, or child care; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in progress preferred
Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills, with knowledge of cultural flexibility and competency in working with multi-cultural participants
Good interpersonal communication skills, strong organizational and classroom management skills, and valid CPR and First Aid Certification
Valid Driver's License and ability to meet the Child Protection Clearances required by PA Act 153
