EMC Test Technician

Remote Full-time
Onsite. This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Milford, Michigan on a full-time basis.

The Role

As we move towards our ZERO ZERO ZERO vision for the future, we are looking to add hardworking individuals to our lab technician team! On this team, we contribute to that vision by supporting the development of groundbreaking electric and autonomous driving technology through set-up and execution of vehicle electromagnetic testing. This testing allows for the early identification of electromagnetic interference and performance issues as part of the General Motors Global Vehicle Development Process.

The EMC Test Technician will have the opportunity to exhibit expertise and training beyond that of an entry-level technician. This role manages most project responsibilities, rather than working on individual parts of a job. We want to add an individual to our team that is driven and independent because the work is less routine and involves more decision making with minimal direction. You will interact with engineering staff from various departments where you will demonstrate your knowledge, skills, and learning abilities. Strong communication skills are needed in this role to optimally communicate across our diverse teams. As an EMC test technician, you'll tackle various procedural tasks, as well as diagnose and solve unique vehicle performance and test process issues! This position supports the test and development of automotive electrical systems by ensuring that GM vehicles and components meet all global government electromagnetic regulations and customer performance expectations.

What You'll Do
• Set-up and test vehicles/components for radiated emissions, radiated immunity, conducted emissions, conducted immunity, and electrostatic discharge testing. Collect and assemble test results.
• Troubleshoot vehicle/component malfunctions.
• Utilize complex electronic equipment to evaluate vehicle/component EMC performance.
• Maintain EMC facility as needed.
