District Nurse । Hawke’s Bay Fallen Soldier’s HospitalPermanent, Part-Time । 64 hours per fortnight (0.8 FTE)We have a permanent part-time position available for a Registered Nurse to work as a District Nurse in the community setting.This role will be within the Community Nursing Service based in either Napier or Hastings.Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is firmly grounded in the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and is committed to building a health system that serves all New Zealanders.About the RoleThe responsibility of a District Nurse is to provide clinical care in the home or clinic settings.This includes wound care for postoperative acute wounds (including surgical drain management) chronic wounds, including assessment for, and the prevention of, complications, urinary catheter care including replacement of male, female and supra-pubic catheters, compression bandaging, management of negative pressure wound therapy, as well as management of surgical, nephrostomy and pleural drains and administration of IV antibiotics via central lines. Please click here to view the position descriptionAbout the Team/Service/ LocationThe wider Community Nursing Service teams consist of the District Nursing teams in Napier and Hastings, the Continence, Ostomy, Better Breathing Hawkes Bay (providing respiratory and heart failure rehabilitation and Community Oxygen Therapy) and the Wound and Community Clinical Nurse Specialist teams.The team also has the support of Clinical Nurse Coordinators, Health Care Assistants along with the administration team. The services are based at Hawkes Bay Fallen Soldiers Memorial Hospital and Napier Health Centre, requiring you to work from the either base.
