This role provides enterpriseâwide leadership for programs supporting both unionized and nonâunionized employees and plays a key role in advancing the organizationâs people strategy.Reporting to the Head of Total Rewards, the Director will serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, identifying opportunities to enhance existing offerings and implement emerging best practices in benefits and disability management. A core focus of this role will be the design and implementation of a new benefits plan, including program design, vendor partnerships, communication, and change management.Key ResponsibilitiesLead territoryâwide benefits, retirement, and absence management programsDesign and implement a new benefits plan, including governance, communication, and rolloutDrive continuous improvement, cost effectiveness, equity, and compliance across programsLead vendor selection, negotiations, and ongoing partnershipsPrepare strategic recommendations and business cases for senior leadership and governance committeesDevelop education and communication strategies to enable informed employee and leader decisionâmakingLead and develop highâperforming benefits and leaves teamsQualificationsBachelorâs degree required; Masterâs degree preferredMinimum 10 years of progressive experience in benefits, total rewards, or absence managementDemonstrated experience leading largeâscale benefits plan design and implementation in large, complex, and preferably unionized environmentsStrong knowledge of Canadian benefits, disability, and leave legislationExperience overseeing disability and nonâoccupational leave programs. Pension or retirement program experience is an assetExperience in complex, multiâunion environments preferredProven leadership, strategic thinking, and changeâmanagement capabilityCompensation: The target hiring range for this position is $135,102.26 to $168,877.83 with a maximum of $202,653.39.Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.The Salvation Army will provide reasonable accommodation upon request.
