Director, Account Opening Fraud Policy
About the position
As a Director of Account Opening Fraud Policy at USAA, you will lead initiatives within the Fraud Prevention Team to manage fraud risk and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. This role involves collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to develop and implement effective fraud risk management strategies, oversee fraud risk assessments, and enhance the overall control environment to protect members and the organization from fraud losses.
Responsibilities
Directs staff and initiatives that support fraud risk management programs.

Oversees the review of fraud risk management requirements and recommends company actions for regulatory compliance.

Partners with key stakeholders to supervise fraud risk management assessments and control effectiveness evaluations.

Identifies strategic and tactical fraud solutions and provides subject matter expertise for fraud risk management initiatives.

Reviews and recommends the development of fraud risk management policies and procedures in alignment with industry best practices.

Provides counsel to business unit managers on fraud-related issues.

Coordinates with compliance experts to ensure consistent fraud risk management programs are in place.

Responsible for regular reporting on fraud activities and alerting senior management to potential risks.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or 4 years of related experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
,
8 years of operations experience in financial services, fraud, compliance, risk, or related areas.
,
6 years of fraud, compliance, risk, audit, or regulatory experience with significant project accountability.
,
3 years of direct team lead or management experience.
,
Experience in researching, designing, and implementing fraud and compliance matters.
,
Expert knowledge of relevant regulatory compliance and industry regulations.
Nice-to-haves
Experience in fraud product management, particularly in account opening and identity theft.

Knowledge of vendor product offerings related to ID verification and behavioral analytics.
