Diet Aide
Job Overview:
Under the direction of the Dietary Department manager, the Diet Aide performs a wide variety of routine tasks in all food service areas. The incumbent will be responsible for essential duties including the reheating and serving of food trays to the patient units; working the tray line; serving employees and patients in the dining room, and other general cleaning tasks within the Dietary Department.
Qualifications:
Required:
ā¢ Excellent customer service skills
Preferred:
ā¢ High school graduate or equivalent
ā¢ Prior work experience in a hospitality environment
Scheduling Requirements:
ā¢ Shift: Day:
ā¢ Days to work: 2 days p/week
ā¢ Part Time (15.00hrs.)
Essential Functions:
ā¢ Assemble patient trays accurately and neatly
ā¢ Assist in assembling food trays and deliver to patient units as required
ā¢ Provide assistance during the preparation, and assembling of additional items for tray-line, as needed
ā¢ Check food items for proper dates
ā¢ Ensure proper levels of food to avoid shortages before serving begins
ā¢ Maintain food at the correct temperature to follow safety protocols
ā¢ Manage the stocking of the area when the work shift is completed; put stock and supplies away in proper areas
ā¢ Operate and clean equipment such as - refrigerators, steam tables, coffee machine, etc.
ā¢ Wash pots, pans, and other small cooking equipment by hand utilizing appropriate cleaning and sanitizing agent
ā¢ Wash dishes and/or utensils according to acceptable standards of practice
ā¢ Ensure compliance with sanitation
ā¢ Sweep and mop floors utilizing appropriate cleaning and sanitizing agent
ā¢ Perform a variety of routine kitchen duties as assigned
