As a DevOps Engineer, you'll be responsible for owning the infrastructure hosting Connex and collaborating closely with the product development teams to understand their infrastructure needs and provide innovative solutions to infrastructure challenges.
About the Role
This is an exciting entry-level opportunity for a DevOps Engineer to make a significant impact on the company's infrastructure and product development. As a DevOps Engineer at Rise Interactive, you'll be expected to:
Work closely with the Engineering teams to improve operational efficiency and maintain software development environments
Triage infrastructure and application production issues and address them in a sustainable way
Automate, script, and document work to increase efficiency
Participate in on-call rotation to ensure high availability and responsiveness
Embody the spirit of DevOps by automating as much as possible and implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation
Key Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in cloud computing infrastructure, logging and monitoring, Linux and Windows Server administration, automation, and CI/CD tools. Some of the key technologies and skills required for this role include:
Cloud Computing infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
Logging, monitoring, and alerting infrastructure (e.g., SumoLogic, Splunk, New Relic, DataDog)
Linux and Windows Server administration
Automation using tools like Chef, Puppet, Ansible, or similar
CI/CD tools like Jenkins, TeamCity, or similar
IaC using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar
SDLC best practices and Agile methodology
Essential and Preferred Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you'll need:
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent field experience
1-2 years of on-the-job cloud experience
Preferred skills include:
Experience with Agile methodology and SDLC best practices
Knowledge of relational and non-relational databases (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server, Apache Cassandra)
Familiarity with networking concepts (switches, routers, VLANs, firewalls, load-balancers)
Experience with security update and patch management
Skills in scripting languages like PowerShell, bash, or Python
Experience with containerization using Docker and orchestration using Kubernetes
