This role is not open to visa sponsorship or transfer of visa sponsorship including those on H1-B, F-1, OPT, STEM-OPT, or TN visa, nor is it available to work corp-to-corp. This role requires a hybrid schedule and will be based in our Fort Mill, SC Headquarters OR NYC office (Tuesday through Thursday) and work fully remotely on Mondays and Fridays each week. The AI Products team is looking for a Data Scientist to help build the next generation of generative AI solutions for our Home Services partners in the utilities and telecommunications sectors. This is a hands-on role focused on developing and scaling LLM-powered product features using modern frameworks and deployment practices. You’ll work closely with other data scientists, engineers, and product managers to bring reusable, production-grade AI systems to life. We believe diverse, inclusive teams are better teams. What You’ll Do: Build and deploy LLM-based applications using tools like LangChain and LangGraph Own individual components or workflows of AI products used by multiple external clients. Develop, test, and maintain production-ready code using best practices in version control, modular design, and CI/CD workflows. Collaborate cross-functionally to integrate models and chains into real-world systems. Participate in prompt design, evaluation, and iteration to improve output quality and robustness. Contribute to shared internal tooling, templates, and documentation where applicable. Apply traditional ML techniques (e.g., classification, clustering) when appropriate to complement generative AI use cases. What We’re Looking For: 1+ yrs of professional experience in a data science role with an MS or PhD in STEM with a focus in computer science, machine learning, statistical modeling, or optimization, OR 3-5 years of professional experience in a data science or machine learning role, ideally with exposure to LLMs or NLP Proficiency in Python and practical use of version control, testing, and basic CI/CD tools Experience with LLM frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LangSmith, or similar) Familiarity with OpenAI, Anthropic, or or other foundational model APIs Experience working in collaborative, cross-functional teams to build and deliver AI applications Experience working in cloud environments (AWS preferred), as well as with data and machine learning platforms such as Databricks, MLflow, or similar tools Independently own a moderate-scope ML/AI solution in production Experience participating in PR reviews and problem framing for more junior data scientists A strong product mindset and an eagerness to learn and grow within a fast-evolving space Compensation National Compensation Range: $127,000 - 140,000 New York Compensation Range: $127,000 - 170,000 *Note actual salary is based on geographic location, qualifications, and experience.
