We need an experienced data engineer like you to help our clients find answers in their big data to impact important missions—from fraud detection to cancer research to national intelligence.As a Data Ingestion Engineer, you have a strong understanding of data integration, transformation, and loading processes, with experience in building and maintaining ETL pipelines. You will work closely with data scientists, frameworks, and other engineering teams to ensure a smooth, end-to-end flow of data from various sources across the enterprise. You’ll implement data engineering activities on some of the most mission-driven projects in the industry. You’ll deploy and develop pipelines and platforms that organize and make disparate data meaningful.Here, you’ll work with and guide a multi-disciplinary team of analysts, data engineers, developers, and data consumers in a fast-paced, agile environment. You’ll use your experience in analytical exploration and data examination while you manage the assessment, design, building, and maintenance of scalable platforms for your clients.Work with us to use big data for good.Join us. The world can't wait.You Have:2+ years of experience as an ETL Engineer, including Fullstack DevelopmentExperience with ETL tools and event-driven architectures, including Kubernetes, Kafka, and Spring Boot, and with Docker and containerization concepts for ETL jobsExperience in Java programming, Typescript for front-end development, and writing complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and reportingExperience with data warehousing concepts and platforms, such as Snowflake and Amazon Redshift, and with databases such as Postgres, Solr, Accumulo, or IcebergExperience integrating structured and unstructured data from various sources such as APIs, databases, or flat files, and with web services and communication protocolsExperience with version control and CI/CD technologies including Git, Gitlab Pipelines, and JenkinsKnowledge of scripting languages such as Python or Shell scripting for automation of ETL tasksAbility to troubleshoot and optimize ETL processesTS/SCI clearanceBachelor’s degreeNice If You Have:Experience with building end-to-end data pipelines across secure environmentsExperience working in or with the DoDExperience with Airflow and Spark a plusKnowledge of machine learning concepts and their integration with data pipelinesKnowledge of non-functional automation testing tools, including SoapUI or PostmanKnowledge of monitoring and logging frameworks such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Elastic stackPossession of strong analytical skillsClearance:Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.CompensationAt Booz Allen, we celebrate your contributions, provide you with opportunities and choices, and support your total well-being. The projected compensation range for this position is $75,600.00 to $172,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
